Welcome to TLC AMPLIFIERS

TLC Amplifiers is a family run music electronics business, based in Birmingham and Huntly, UK. Formed in 2000, as The Luvvit Company, since 2013 we have been focussed on the repair of amps (mainly valve, vintage, and high end domestic), studio gear (desks, mics and fx), and keyboards, synths, and combo organs. The core of our business is valve / tube guitar amplifier service and repair, hence the name.

Our list of clients include: Bonehead (Oasis), Liam Gallagher Band (all guitar & bass amps), Saul Davies (James), Rich March (Pop Will Eat Itself), Nic Bullen (Rainbow Grave, Germ, Napalm Death), Dan Glendining (Headswim, BlackCar), Thom Edward (God Damn), Hannah Al Shemmeri (God Damn), Micky Harris (Scorn, Napalm Death), and Friendly Fire Band.

We undertake work from individuals, retailers, venues, studios, bands, tours and backline companies.

We’re approved by Marshall, Korg/Vox, Ashdown, Cornell, BIMM, ACM and many other manufacturers and educational establishments to carry out repairs. We are involved in several vintage forums, such Facebooks groups for Selmer and WEM / Watkins.

Under the brand name Brelliott Amps, we design and build hand-crafted valve amplifiers.

Please note that we work mainly with through-hole, hand-wired amps and vintage equipment. Some brands and technologies are not economically viable for us to repair, and we suggest contacting the approved service company for these. We are not set up with the diagnostic, test and repair equipment, and this includes most modern mass-produced equipment, employing surface mount components. Please feel free contact us, and we will happily advise on the viability of a repair.

News

05/05/25 – Server migration is complete! I’ve updated the logo, and started tidying up. I’m still in Birmingham approximately 10 days per month, and can also carry out repairs in my workshop in the North East of Scotland. We also carry out a postal repair service for pedals.

19/11/23 – Spurred on by my presence on social media, I’ve built myself a workshop. I can now carry out repairs in my workshop in the North East of Scotland. I’ll also be offering a postal repair service for pedals.

17/11/23 – At the end of October, I went to see Mick Taylor of That Pedal Show, thinking I was only popping over to pick up my Brelliott TODP pedal – he bought the pedal, and it was featured on today’s show “Welcome to the Jangle“. Superb stuff!

24/08/22 – I’m started back working in Birmingham approximately 10 days per month, which is about 1/3 of the time. I will be working every day that I am down, so it will the the equivalent of me being there about half of the time.

25/07/22 – We have moved to the North East of Scotland, about 45 minutes drive north of Aberdeen. Service will resume in Birmingham, after a brief settling in period.

13/06/22 – Due to a lot of hard work and dedication, the waiting lists have been pretty much cleared, and we are able to offer you our full, back-to-normal service. We also operate a premium fast-track service, so if you need equipment repairing to a short deadline, we can pull out all the stops and get your equipment back to you, ready for a show, tour, recording, etc.

15/03/19 – Branston Amplifiers is being re-branded as “Brelliott Amps” – I’ve been called Jonny Brelliott for years. The penny dropped this week, when I designed a fantastic new logo. Now to re-brand as many amps as I can in time for The Guitar Show, at New Bingley Hall, Birmingham. The domain brelliott.com has been bought, and all future design work will be carried out under this brand. Brilliant!

14/03/18 – TLC Amplifiers is being updated! Many amps have been made, and many great amp repairs done. And what’s more, we’re starting more sentences with conjunctives, and researching more interesting stuff. When this turns to “has been updated” you will know that you’re getting the most bang-up-to-date info on TLC Amplifiers, Branston Amplifiers, and RR Transmig Research. So, until then, have a look around, but mainly check out our Facebook and Instagram accounts. Oh yes! – we now have Instagram!
